Welcome to the Kalamata Nautical Club (N.O.K.)
The Kalamata Nautical Club is a non-profit youth sports organization serving the greater area of Kalamata, Messinia in southern Greece. We offer programs for the novice and international level athletic events.
The hallmark of our success is based on our traditional values of dedication and hard work that support our continuous efforts to create strong individual athletes and powerhouse teams.
N.O.K. strives to effectuate the dreams of our talented athletes. We take pride and delight in helping them to be their best to win distinction.
Training with N.O.K., provides young people physical, emotional and intellectual skills while instilling the values of sportsmanship and team-work, not only to help them excel in their sport, but also to become good students.
To this end, we cooperate with experienced physical education trainers and former athletes with notable athletic achievements. As members of the Greek Coaches Association, they have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program available in youth sports.
Our coaches and staff have developed excellent programs intended to provide one of the most comprehensive youth sports opportunities in the area. N.O.K. offers a guided age-group youth program for children ages 5 and up, from the beginner to the most competitive, skilled athlete.
We offer training programs that focus on developing talent in the following sports categories: swimming, water polo, sailing, chess and volley.
Competitions/Meets
N.O.K. is affiliated with the Regional Swimming Committee of Peloponnese and the Hellenic Swimming Federation, partner of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and member of the International Swimming Federation.
N.O.K. organizes friendship games, Regional championships, National Championships, meets, and performs competitive training together with other teams.
For a number of years, N.O.K. organizes the National Swimming Championships 5 km and 10 km, two new events that were established as Olympic events at the previous Beijing Games of 2008.
Distinctions
N.O.K. not only has successful athletes. It also has a strong network of board members, whose President heads the Hellenic Swimming Federations’s Committee for Marathon Swimming, and serves on the Board of the Hellenic Sailing Federation since 1992.
